The party had zones the number two position to the 10 local government areas of Okeogun.

Though the party is yet to announce officially, Makinde, after many weeks of consultations, had settled for Olaniyan.

Olaniyan, a member of the Unity Forum, a breakaway faction of the All Progressives Congress, APC, is one of the 12 aggrieved governorship aspirants of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, in Oyo State. He hails from Igboho, headquarters of Oorelope local government.

But Alleluyah, being one of the leaders of the party in the state was said to have earlier prevented Barr. Mikail Alarape, a former speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, from being nominated as Makinde’s deputy.

Alleluyah, a former commissioner for local government and chieftaincy matters who represented Oyo North senatorial district between 2011 and 2015, hails from Igbojaiye town of Itesiwaju local government.

“Makinde had settled for Olaniyan. But Alleluyah wants another person. He wants someone who has been with the party. He respects Alleluyah so much. He listens to him. He is taking his time to pacify him. Hopefully, a running mate should be announce before the beginning of next week,” a source confided in OYO INSIGHT.
