OYO INSIGHT can authoritatively report that Governor Abiola Ajimobi has agreed to work for the emergence of the immediate past deputy governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, Oloye Adebayo Adelabu, as governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in today’s party primaries scheduled to hold at the Lekan Salami Sports Complex, Adamasingba, Ibadan.
It was gathered that the deal was sealed last night after a billionaIre businessman and monarch from the South West visited the governor to assured him of Adelabu’s loyalty.
For long, many people including party members had tipped Engr. Joseph Tegbe, as the governor’s preferred choice. He was still the preferred choice until around 4 am today when the governor decided to listen to his ‘VVIP’ visitors.
As at last time, this newspaper learnt, many delegates don’t know who to vote for as they await directives from their respective council chairmen.
Adelabu and Tegbe, both graduate of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife, had, for many months, combed major parts of the state to solicit support and votes. They both hail from the same Ibadan South East local government.
