They further added that after consideration of all aspirants for the polls, Akanbi, the candidate of ADC remained the best choice.

Speaking on behalf of the group, the leader, Barrister Kayode Olanipekun maintained that the group is not political but is a strong movement that stands for good governance and this has made them identify with Senator Akanbi who has represented Oyo South excellently not to mention his various good works prior to him becoming a Senator.

He further stressed that a lawmaker of his calibre is one of a kind adding that he is someone who always has the thought of his people at heart.

“Our Senator has been a focused, committed, resilient representative and we have seen and believed in his good works. We are so pleased with his display of great sense of courage, steadfastness and tenacity of purpose and we have endorsed him for not only ensuring a robust and qualitative representation at the Federal level but also for sound delivery of dividends of democracy across not only his Senatorial District but also always striving for sustainable development of our nation” said one of the members.

Also in a statement by the group, they said “We especially commend him for the national issues he stands for on the floor of the Red Chambers apart from the bills and motions and various contributions at committee level, not to mention the colossal projects he facilitated to the district as well as his personal unrivalled projects”.

Stating some of the national issues he stands for which includes, autonomy for Local Governments, his rejection on turning our unused fertile lands to a cattle colony especially in our own Ido and Ibarapa areas, reduction in running cost of governance, review of workers minimum wage, regional integration, restructuring to mention but a few.

One of the group members affirmed that “without any iota of doubt and in due recognition of Sen. Akanbi’s sterling performance in the Red Chambers, he has extended his hands of care and passionate love for his people. He has proven to be intellectually upright and capable to serve his people as a true born Omoluabi and God sent liberator of his people from poverty and monumental slavery judging from his antecedents even before being a Senator.

“This precipitates our unanimous resolution for his endorsement as the best man for the job; a man of noble character and objective candour to serve his people and nothing should therefore be allowed to impede the furtherance of his quality representation.”

They further added that his footprints of landmark achievements had been felt and he had delivered on all promises made till date.

“This and many more reasons affirmed him as the most outstanding man to represent Oyo South, “they added.

The group, which expressed high optimism that SOJ would not disappoint the people in effective representation, urged all electorates to reciprocate the gesture and come out en-mass on Saturday to mark their ballot for ADC (handshake logo) and re-elect him for the continuation of his great works.

They also urged all law enforcement agencies and the electoral umpire, INEC to ensure a credible poll.
