The Federation of Oyo State Students Union, FOSSU, has congratulated Governor Seyi Makinde as he marks the anniversary of his first year in office.
FOSSU, in a press statement signed by it’s President, Com. Azeez Muritala Oluwasegun and Secretary, Ayantayo Sodiq, described the first year as a successful one.
They stated that “the Union has watched this administration from inception and the entire students of the state are proud of His Excellency on the journey so far in taking Oyo State back to her Pace Setter status.”
They wrote further, “This administration has continually shown excellence in governance which is evident in the numerous Awards of Excellence that the administration has amassed within the past 12 months and the nation wide recognition of good governance that the Seyi Makinde’s administration enjoys.”
They, however, called on Governor Makinde not to forget his electoral promise to the students of the state because scholarship and bursary grants which students have been denied over the years is the major dividends of democracy they enjoy.
They also called on Governor Makinde to use this period to evaluate his administration.
Adding that, “The administration should identify what could have been done better and channel the discovery into maximizing the remaining three years in terms of infrastructural development in all sectors in the state.”
