Ibrahim Olanrewaju Ajiboye has emerged the New Nigerian Peoples Party, NNPP, candidate for Ibadan North East/South East federal constituency.
Omo Iya Eleja, as he is fondly called, emerged on Friday after the party primary election.
He had left the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP few weeks ago, owing to what it called injustice and self-centeredness of the the party.
At the primaries which took place at the Owolowo Hall and Event Center, Oremeji Agugu Ibadan, he emerged at an extensive meeting of the party leadership chaired by Ibadan Northeast and Southeast party chairmen, Hon. Iyiola Taiwo (Northeast) and Hon. Waheed Karim (Southeast) before the party primary election started.
In his appreciation message, Omo Iya Eleja said, “It is from my deepest heart I say a big thank you to all the party members, especially the delegates who are present here today for our party primary election for Ibadan Northeast, Southeast federal constituency. Thanks for making me the candidate to represent the party in the coming general election. I hope we can continue to work together for the success of the NNPP in all elections. Your support will not be taken for granted and will always be remembered and appreciated.”
While addressing the party leaders and members, Taiwo who is the NNPP chairman, Ibadan Northeast said Omo Iya Eleja won the party ticket for Ibadan Northeast/Southeast federal constituency based on his humanity to the masses and political antecedent in the constituency.
“We have entrusted the future of our party in the federal constituency to him, he is a candidate to beat. Before, we had two aspirants vying for the ticket but, we have celebrated and resolved to settle for Ibrahim Omo Iya Eleja. He is a sellable candidate and his humanitarian services in all the communities that made up the constituency will speak for him; with him, I am sure our party will win the federal constituency seat with ease.”
