The lawmaker representing Oluyole federal constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Sumbo Olugbemi today met with some of his constituents as reconstruction works began on the Olomi Ijebu-Igbo road.
Not long ago, the lawmaker had called the attention of the federal government to the road via a motion he moved on the floor of the House.
Olugbemi had, after the motion, followed through with the support of Senator Monsurat Sunmonu, who represents Oyo Central in the Senate.
Several visits were made to the federal minister of works and power and housing, Mr Babatunde Fashola.
The prayers of the residents and indigenes were answered as the federal government, last month, listed the Olomi – Olunde – Olujuoro to ijebu igbo boundary as one of the roads to be reconstructed.
This is, according to the 51-year old lawmaker in a chat with OYO INSIGHT, a long awaited opportunity of enjoying good road network by the pedestrian, motorists and the inhabitants along the route.
While thanking President Muhammadu Buhari and members of the Federal Executive Council for the gesture, Olugbemi admonished residents to bear with the pains that is associated with the reconstruction of the road.
He promised them a continued service to the people.
