Olubadan In Attendance As Alaafin Installs Adeduntan As Balogun Of Oyo

In what looks like a peaceful move, the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, has visited the palace of the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Abimbola Akeem Owoade, to attend the coronation of Dr. Adesola Kazeem Adeduntan.

Dr. Adeduntan, an illustrious son of Ibadanland and former CEO of First bank, was officially conferred with the prestigious title of the Balogun of Oyo by the Alaafin during the ceremony.

In another event across the state, Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde and his wife, Tamunominini, were also installed as the Aare Soludero and Yeye Soludero of Eruwaland by the Eleruwa, Oba Samuel Adebayo Adegbola.

OYO INSIGHT observed that today’s gathering in Oyo marked Oba Ladoja’s first time visiting Oyo town since Oba Owoade’s coronation.

The visit helped clear the air following rumoured past loggerheads between the two traditional rulers, which included a public snub at an event.

Oba Ladoja, who is the chairman of the Oyo State Traditional Council, had earlier clarified that the snub was not intended.

Oba Ladoja is a former governor and veteran politician, while Oba Owoade took over the historic Alaafin stool after a traditional selection process.
