The good people of the pacesetter state should do everything humanly possible to rescue the state from vultures. Our founding fathers would be in a state of sadness with the present situation of the legacies they struggled to build.
All indices to measure good governance have shown that the state is in a mess and this was the singular reason why *Rauf Olaniyan*, the former deputy governor was labelled a critique, as he believes that power should be accountable to the people. Power needs a voice of wisdom and truth, that was his stance in the administration, which they detest.
The education system in the state is in a sorry state. Local government funds have been massively mismanaged without transparency and accountability. Health sector is crying for help.
Light up project now disburse darkness. Legacy landed properties and amusement parks have been converted to private use in all sorts of guise and land grabbing is now the order of the day. Insecurity reigns, farmers have abandoned farms for fear of kidnapping and power in the state is now converging to authoritarianism and citizens with divergent views being locked up with reckless abandon. Commercial and economic activities are in comatose, citizens are reduced to paupers, effects of which is stampede and avoidable waste of lives. We cannot continue this trend and there’s an urgent need for us to call for and work for a change.
This beautiful state deserves a leader that is forward looking, a visionary with transformative leadership qualities, built on decades of experience, expertise and capacity to lead the people to transformation and prosperity. For a balanced, people-orientend and development-driven Oyo come 2027, *Rauf Olaniyan* is the most appropriate servant for the job.
He remains the face of hope and courage. This God blessed state deserves the best.
