The chairman of Ogbomoso North Local Government Area of Oyo state and son of Chief Adebayo Alao-Akala, the former governor of Oyo state, Olamijuwon Alao, on Monday stated that the coalition between his father’s party, the Action Democratic Party (ADP), and the All Progressive Congress (APC), is one that will prevail against all odds.

Olamijuwon, who was speaking on his reinstatement explained that it had nothing to do with the coalition between his father’s party and the APC, adding that it has to do with the official issues that are not meant for public discussion

“What transpired was official. It was mainly official matters that had nothing to do with the governor; the governor was not involved, it had to do with ethics and official issues that I can’t discuss publicly. I got a letter and faced a panel, I was reinstated on Friday.

“And on the gubernatorial election, I am with my father, we are supporting the ambition of Chief Adebayo Adelabu of the APC. We are not switching parties but aligning for the governorship election, it is a coalition to ensure the state gets the best.

“Alao-Akala is stepping down and I can say that it was not an easy decision to arrive at but a leader has to consider his followers and the people as a whole. All our candidates are still going to the polls on the platform of the ADP,” he stated.

According to him, the task ahead is to engage in vigorous sensitisation in the six geopolitical zones of the state on the change in candidature and work with all stakeholders ensure APC come out on top in Saturday’s election.

He enjoined the people to come out and vote, adding that his father will not fail in his promise to the people especially those that believe in him, adding that the APC government would pursue the ideals of the ADP for the people especially on areas that need government attention.

“Politics is about change and dynamics. A lot has changed at present and there is a need to reassess the situation and do what is best for the people. That is what my father did; he is a major factor with huge followers who he must consider at all times.

“People should come out and vote on Saturday, security operatives are there for their protection not to harass them, they should not be scared, APC will never be violent on the people it wants to govern,” he concluded.
