Islamic clerics, scholars, teachers, leaders and elders, under the aegis of League of Imams and Alfas in Okeogun have described the immediate past deputy governor of Oyo State, Raufu Olaniyan, as an important pillar of Muslims and residents of Oke-ogun.
Recall that Olaniyan was recently removed by the Adebo Ogundoyin-led House of Assembly in the state.
During a courtesy visit paid to his Ibadan office on Wednesday, members of the Islamic group led by their chairman, Ahmmad Tijani, prayed that the Almighty guide him in his next steps.
“We are here to show concern as Muslim elders in Oke Ogun axis because of your antecedents as an individual who has been a strong pillar to the faith, the people of the region and the state as a whole,” Tijani said during the visit.
In the same vein, the group’s Secretary, Abdulrahman Adeyemi, noted that the visit has nothing to do with political discussion or support for any party.
“When things like this happen to a devoted Muslim it shows the Almighty Allah did this to save guard him against serious obstacles just like happened to the various prophets of Islam which they later overcome,” he said.
