During the remembrance ceremony, Okanlawon described his grandfather as an astute leader, philanthropist and community developer, who is known for his impact and leadership acumen.

“Pa Okanlawon steered the affairs of Unity Party of Nigeria in the Old Ifeloju Local Government Area, which covered the entire Ibarapa land,” he explained.

He continued, “Apart from making landmark achievements in the political corridor, he was a philanthropist. His philanthropic heart and gestures remain memorable in the minds of many people. He transmitted this virtue among others to myself and other members of his lineage. It is in lieu of this that I am happy to drill these boreholes in remembrance of him, honouring the numerous lessons, counsel, ideas and values that he instilled in me, his beloved inquisitive grandson.”

He further prayed that “May Grandpa continue to enjoy eternal rest in the bossom of the Lord.”
