Elerunmu of Erunmu, Kabiesi Oyesola Oyerinde has mourned the passing away of the highly respected and peace-making Oba Saliu Akanmu Adetunji Ajeogunguniso I, the 41st Olubadan of Ibadanland.
Elerunmu, while condoling with the immediate family of the late monarch, Ibadanland, Oyo State and Yorubaland generally on the demise of Oba Adetunji, he described the late monarch as a peace loving King who only wanted the best for the good people of Ibadanland and environs, and beyond.
Kabiesi Oyerinde while recounting his journey and experience with the late monarch, said, “Oba Adetunji was a monarch who prioritized peace above anything. He displayed his high level of fairness in dealing and resolving issues leading to the successful installation of Elerunmu of Erunmu.”
“His role in the settlements of the over 40 years traditional crisis in Erunmu was highly commendable and appreciated by sons and daughters of the town.”
“I want to reiterate that, the courage and boldness he employed to reposition the turbulent times of the Erunmu traditional crisis have further paved ways for arrays of development of the town.”
“While the entire people of Erunmu and environs are praying that the Almighty Allah should accept his, Oba Adetunji, return and grant him Aljanat fridaos, we equally pray that, the new Olubadan in-waiting will have a successful reign as Olubadan of Ibadanland.”
