No Amount Of Smear Campaign Can Divide Adedeji, Oke-Ogun People — Alli Campaign

The Senator Sharafadeen Alli Campaign Organisation (SSACO) has dismissed as false reports circulating on social media alleging that the APC deputy governorship candidate in Oyo State, Hon Adesoji Adedeji, insulted the people of Oke-Ogun during his visit to Saki.

The campaign organisation, in a statement by its Director of Media and Publicity, Bisi Oladele, described the report as a smear campaign allegedly designed to create a wedge between Adedeji and the people of Oke-Ogun.

The organisation said there was no amount of smear campaign that could divide Adedeji from the people of Oke-Ogun, whom it said the APC deputy governorship candidate and Senator Alli hold in high esteem.

It alleged that the report was being circulated by “drowning politicians” unsettled by the mammoth crowd that welcomed Adedeji during his youth town hall meetings in Saki, Ogbomoso, Iseyin and Oyo earlier in the week.

According to the statement, the campaign organisation said the growing support for the APC in Oke-Ogun and other parts of the state, particularly among youths, had unsettled some political opponents.

“The SSACO wishes to re-affirm Senator Alli and Hon Adedeji’s utmost respect and honour for the good people of Oke-Ogun. They have always held them in high esteem, treating them as treasures that they truly are,” the statement said.

It added that the Oyo AHEAD agenda of the Alli-Adedeji ticket prioritised Oke-Ogun in agriculture, infrastructure, youth development, education and health.

The campaign organisation also pointed to the establishment of the Federal University of Agriculture and Technology, Okeho, and ongoing road reconstruction projects of the APC-led Federal Government in Oke-Ogun as evidence of the zone’s strategic importance.

The SSACO urged the people of Oke-Ogun to disregard what it described as lies and continue to support the APC and its programmes for the zone and the state.

It also urged Oyo residents to key into the Oyo AHEAD agenda of Senator Alli and Adedeji, saying its implementation would help Oyo regain its pace-setting status in Nigeria.
