An educationist and philantropist, Dr Fola Akinosun says for the country to surmount her mirage of challenges, leaders and the led must have a positive mindset and exhibit the habit of selfless service.
Dr Akinosun made this known while delivering a lecture on the topic “Nigeria Challenges: way out” at the press week and award ceremony of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Osun state Broadcasting Corporation chapter, Osun state.
The agba akin of IrokoLand believed that Nigeria’s challenges could be traced back to the pre colonial era where there were no solid foundation and indigenous input in the creation of Nigeria. He noted that subsequent miliary take over compounded the situation
He identified fake news, get rich quick syndrome among the youth and unncessary celebration of questionable wealthy individuals by the media as some of the problems bedeviling the country.
Dr Akinosun was later conferred with the “Excellence in educational development award” by the NUJ , Osun state while the state NUJ ICT/E-Library centre was named after Dr. Fola Akinosun to honour him in appreciation of his supports.
Dr Akinosun donated cash gift and presented scholarship forms for 250 youths to study in different educational capacities which he dedicated to Governor Gboyega Oyetola of Osun state and former governor of Oyo state, Chief Adebayo Alao Akala.
Earlier during a courtesy visit to the osun state governor, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola described Dr Fola Akinosun, the proprietor of foreign link campus, ile-ife as an unrepentant supporter of the state’s education sector through his public private partnership.
