NGO Partners Oyo South Senator, To Train 5000 Girls On Menstrual Hygiene, Sex Education

Women for Greater Good Foundation (WGGF), in partnership with the office of Distinguished Senator Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli of Oyo South to reach and educate 5,000 girls in Oyo South Senatorial District on menstrual hygiene education (MHE) and sex education (SE).

Tagged Flow with Dignity School Tour Season 2, the founder and executive director, Fatima Hassan, explained that it was a timely initiative that is set to commemorate the International Day of the Girl Child.

According to the Ibadan-born graduate of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria, “By focusing on empowering girls through education and support, this program aligns with the global efforts to promote gender equality and ensure the well-being of young women.”

She listed the objectives of the tour to include “Empowerment: equip girls with knowledge and skills to manage their menstrual health with confidence. Education: provide comprehensive MHE and SE education to break down stigma and promote healthy practices. Resource Distribution: distribute essential menstrual materials and educational handbooks to support girls’ needs. Community Impact: foster positive change in rural communities by addressing menstrual hygiene and sexual health.

“Flow with Dignity School Tour Season 2 is expected to have a significant impact on the lives of girls in Oyo South Senatorial District By providing access to essential information, resources, and support, the program will empower girls to make informed decisions about their health, education, and future,” she added.
