On Monday, 27th of December, 2021, BARHF held her second annual seminar: Innovation and Entrepreneurship: What is the Role of Technology? It took place at ALMAS Place’s Cinema Hall, Oke-Dio Saki.
The organizers of the event noticed that the best way to eradicate intellectual decadence in our immediate society is through education.

Therefore, the aim was to educate Saki natives on how to identify a problem that impedes life, how to provide a suitable technological solution to it, and how to make it eminently marketable.

Before the event day, a link was sent out to people to register their participation in the seminar. With about 60 participants that cut across undergraduates, recent graduates and secondary school leavers in attendance.

The event was a mind-robbing panelist discussion with Kawthar Monisola Salahudeen, Malik Kolade and Olanrewaju Olansile (Advantage) as the panellists and Uthman Alao (the Project Director at BARHF) as the moderator to discuss the theme and answer questions from the participants. Following the panelist discussion, there was a brainstorming session.

The participants were divided into three groups – education, health and transportation – and were instructed to identify a problem in these sectors; provide fitting and suitable solutions to these problems using technological tools and highlight its market potential.

BARHF is a non-governmental organization striving to create communities where youths are empowered to improve their livelihood through appropriate and affordable alternatives and provide necessary resources for people to tackle challenges within their communities.
