A group working for the political aspiration of Engr Joseph Tegbe, who was one of the governorship aspirants on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Team Tegbe, has reacted to news making the round that its principal didn’t work for the candidate of the party, Oloye Adebayo Adelabu.
This was made known known in a statement sent to OYO INSIGHT.
Adelabu lost the election to Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, candidate, Engr Seyi Makinde.
OYO INSIGHT learnt that Sahara Reporters has published a story earlier this week detailing how Adelabu allegedly confronted Tegbe for working against him during the just concluded governorship poll.
TEAM TEGBE CLEARS THE AIR…continues to unify Oyo APC.
“Yet each man kills the thing he loves
By each let this be heard
Some do it with a bitter look
Some with a flattering word
The coward does it with a kiss
The brave man with a sword”
– Oscar Wilde
Our attention has been drawn to news circulating on the social media that Engineer Tegbe did not work for the success of Oloye Adebayo Adelabu. The news in it’s entirety is false and a product of myopic thinking from those with mischievous ulterior motives aimed at casting aspersions on the person of the amiable Joseph Tegbe so as to lower or undermine his estimation in the mind of APC leadership and sabotage future assigned role that may be given to him.
It is imperative to state that after the infamous Oyo state APC primaries, our principal; Engineer Olasunkanmi Joseph Tegbe convened numerous meetings of his supporters in Ibadan and Oyo town respectively where he urged everyone to stand by the party while specifically mentioning that our candidate is Adebayo Adelabu, evidences abound.
It would be sacrosanct to call for evidences, witnesses and case studies across our well established structure in the 33 local government areas in Oyo State. This can be verified from the levels of our dear party structures, APC. Results of where TeamTegbe members worked tirelessly are quite evident and that is why it is quite provoking for Chief Adebayo Adelabu to allege that our principal; Joseph Tegbe did not support him, really?
We are convinced that the aim of his recent outburst is simply to subtly sabotage the proposed assigned role of honourable minister to be given and reiterated severally to our principal and party faithful who were so aggrieved that the Gubernatorial ticket was denied our principal.
Note, this was well announced after Joseph Tegbe heeded to the plea to step down for the party consensus in the interest of peace and unity.
Adelabu Bayo needs to acknowledge that you cannot eat your cake and have it, Tegbe is the minister and Ajimobi has said it and the heaven has sanctioned. President Muhammad Buhari shall approve this time, remember he was nominated in 2015 when Adelabu was no where in APC.
We hereby call all and sundry that they should join us in prayers that the peaceful and unifying personality in Tegbe deserves support and we see a better representation of Oyo in his gentlemanliness. He clearly demonstrated this even when it was obvious he was denied for Adelabu to fly the party flag.
Suffice to say that despite good gestures from JT, it is instructive to state that Adelabu since the primary refused to initiate ANY reconciliatory role among the co-contestants, always tagged individuals as Tegbe supporters and in open display of arrogance, stood aloof to them yet Tegbe has been unifying the progressives across the divides in order to jump start Oyo APC in no time after the terrible loss.
God bless our party
