As year 2021 is ushered in across world, Nigerians have been urged to be hopeful despite the myriads of problems confronting the county.
Chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC, Prof. Adeolu Akande, made this known in his new year message.
According to Akande, who is also the director at the Centre for Presidential Studies, Igbinedion University, Okada, Edo State, with concerted efforts, Nigeria will overcome most of its problems.
“Like other countries, we have a lot of problems bedeviling our Nigeria. We will overcome it. But, it is a collective efforts. We have to be very hopeful. The just concluded year has shown us that we should always be prepared. For better part of the year, coronavirus pandemic held us back. It has not gone, it is still with us. I see us defeating it just like we did to Ebola.
“The economy hardship that has been foisted on us due to the pandemic will go. It is a gradual process. It did not start at once. We should all be positive-minded.
“Like I have always said, let me reiterate that we should spread love to our neighbours. This festive period, let’s extend love to them and let us also celebrate with modesty. That is one of the ways to rekindle hope in ourselves. May God continue to protect us as we celebrate 2021. It shall be a year our problems would be solved,” he added.
