    Prof Raphael Afonja, Governor Seyi Makinde’s former works commissioner, has described the death of former governor Adebayo Alao-Akala as shocking.

    Recall that OYOINSIGHT had reported that the leader of the APC in Oyo State died in the early hours of Wednesday.

    In a statement to mourn his passing, Afonja described him as a leader par excellence.

    “Chief Alao-Akala was not just the rallying point in Ogbomosoland, he was also a man whose leadership credibility was never questioned,” the statement began.

    “His death come across as not only shocking but saddening. My hometown of Ogbomoso has lost a shinning light.

    “We pray the Almighty gives his family and people of Ogbomoso the strength to bear the weight of his exit.”
