Moniya Inferno: Makinde Inspects Scene, Sympathizes With Victims, Residents

The Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde has sympathized with victims and residents of Moniya market following the petrol tanker explosion that destroyed properties while some were feared dead on Friday.

The governor, who was represented by the Commissioner fo Works, Infrastructure and Transport, Professor Raphael Afonja, inspected the scene of the incident on Saturday.

During the inspection, he appreciated the caretaker chairman of Akinyele Local Government, Hon. Taoreed Adedigba Jimoh for his prompt response which minimized the damages caused by the fire outbreak.

While responding, the chairman thanked the governor for his visit and commended the fire service in state for their timely response.

He also appreciated other security agencies for the diligent role they played.
