Mama Abigail Makinde Lived A Fulfilled Life — Aderemi Jimoh, Babaloja Of Oyo State

The Babaloja of Oyo State, Alhaji Aderemi Jimoh has described the late mother of Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo, as one of the privileged mothers favoured by God to live a fulfilled Life on the planet earth.

Speaking on Friday in Ibadan at the emergency meeting of the executives of National Association of Nigerian Traders, Oyo State Chapter, Alhaji Aderemi added that late Mrs. Abigail Makinde’s death is a great loss to Oyo State at this period when Oyo State is undergoing massive socioeconomic and education development.

“Mama’s death is a great loss to the state, especially now that every sector of the state’s economy is undergoing reformation and restructuring. Our mama’s prayers, words of wisdom and experiences really helped in reshaping the State. Our prayer for his excellency is that God will fill the vacuum left behind by great matriarch.

In her reaction to the departed of the mother of Engr. Seyi Makinde, the Southwest Coordinator of the National Association of Nigerian Traders Chief (Mrs.) Odunayo Danjuma described the late first grandmother in Oyo State as exceptional and great mother.

“Mama was outstanding, loving, caring and a destiny helper. Her lifestyle was exceptional, worthy of emulation, she lived godly and decent lifestyle. No wonder God granted her all her heart requests and permitted her to witness successes of her children. She would definitely be missed,” Chief (Mrs.) Odunayo Danjuma stated.

Meanwhile, Babaloja announced the setting up of a committee to work on association’s plan to celebrate the life well spent and immortalise Mama Abigail Olatunbosun Makinde.

“While we await the final decision on the date for the final burial of our mother, we have constituted committee to work with the family and organise programme for the celebration of Mama’s life. The committee shall also work with the Talented Daughters of Africa to institute Special Scholarship for Girl-Children and perfect work on establishment of a new market within Ibadan in mama’s name,” Babaloja stated.

“We are not in mourning mood at all, Mama lived a fulfilled life, so she must be celebrated. May the good Lord grant the family of our late mother the fortitude to bear the irreparable and irreplaceable loss, may the Lord also continue to guide and protect Engr. Seyi Makinde as he continues to transform the state to enviable level,” Babaloja prayed.

Also at the meeting are, Alhaji Whaab Adebayo Elesin, Babaloja of Oke-Ogun, Alhaja Khadijat Adepeju, Iyaloja Oyo Alaafin, Alhaja Iswat Abiola Amerigun, Iyaloja of Ibadanland, Alhaja Limits Whaab, Iyaloja-General Oke-Ogun, Chief (Mrs.) Justina Iyabode Ogundoyin, Iyaloja-General Ibarapaland, Chief (Mrs.) Alice Adebisi Oyebode, Iyaloja Ogo Oluwa LG., representing Iyaloja-General of Ogbomoso.
