The Seyi Makinde Movement for Good Governance also known as SMMFG has said that it considered it laughable and amusing the reactions of the members, stakeholders and leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the judgement of the Ibadan Division of the Court of Appeal.
SMMFG, speaking in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, through its official spokesman, Samson Atilola, explained that the reactions of APC and their members “clearly showed that they are still disenchanted, disillusioned, disappointed and shocked over the results of the March 9th governorship election that produced the choice of the people, Engr. Seyi Makinde as the duly elected governor of Oyo State.”
The group added that “The APC in Oyo State has decided to play to the gallery by deceiving their jejune members with concocted lies and misrepresentation of facts and statements. They have even gone ahead to release press statement to masturbate their ego. This is not only laughable, it is also highly preposterous!
“If the purpose of the unneeded, unsolicited, inhumane, insensitive jubilations of the APC is about the Appeal Court gubernatorial proceedings that happened on Monday at the Ibadan division of the Federal Court of Appeal, then, one must agree that the APC is a congress and a conclave of ignorant folks who do not carefully listen to the law.
“For the avoidance of doubt, all the prayers APC brought before the house were not only dismissed, it was also thrown out and Seyi Makinde remains as the executive governor of Oyo State. The election of Governor Seyi Makinde was upheld and there was no ambiguity at all.
“The attempt of the local, state and national leaders of the APC to subvert justice and twist the hand of the judges was exposed and foiled. It is not out of place to say that we know that the deliberate attempt of the APC to induce, force, intimidate and cow the highly distinguished members of the bench was also uncovered.
“We are glad that the choice of the people was not tampered with and the victory of Engr, Seyi Makinde is a victory for not only the PDP and its members but for all lovers of good governance across the world.
“Oyo state people has made it clear during the election that Engr. Seyi Makinde is their choice and they will be ready to defend him and his mandate that was freely given to him by the people. The good people of Oyo State are contented with the humillity, character, speeches, works and the administration of Engr. Seyi Makinde.
“Let us also use this opportunity to warn the APC not to try to change the will of the people at the Apex Court as they may face serious opposition and vehement resistance from the people that sent Governor Seyi Makinde.
“Oyo State residents and indigenes cannot forget the maladministration, high handedness, wickedness, bitterness of the APC led government for 8 years and they have decided not to reinforce failure and never to allow APC rule our state again.
“We want to implore all citizens and lovers of our party to go about their lawful business normally and peacefully as Oyo state is poised to enjoy more ground breaking feats under Governor Seyi Makinde and PDP. We are certain that with Engineer Seyi Makinde, Oyo State is on the course for pacesetting strides.”
