According to Oyekan, the project was informed by the need to erect a befitting edifice where the meetings and other business of the traditional council will be carried out.

The council currently holds its meetings at a building owned by Ibadan Local Government Property located in Town Planning, Ring Road.

Oyekan explained that the project was nichnamed a ‘mini Mapo Hall’ to further develop Ibadan and make it comfortable for the traditional council members to carry out their duties.

Ibadan South West Traditional Council is led by Ladoja as acting chairman and representative of the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Saliu Adetunji.
