Governor Seyi Makinde has promised that his administration will conduct elections into council areas in the state by the first quarter of next year.
Makinde who spoke on Saturday evening while featuring on a radio programme to mark his first 30 days in office, said his administration was determined to make local governments in the state stronger.
This is just as also revealed that his administration has plans to reorganise the Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission (OYSIEC) and ensure that it is made up of persons of integrity and impeccable character.
According to him, OYSIEC will conduct a free, fair and transparent election next year.
