A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Oyo State, who is also a member, Governing Council, The Polytechnic Ibadan, Bola Akinyemi, has advised Governor Seyi Makinde to reshuffle his cabinet immediately in order to correct some mistakes in his appointments, adding that the structure of his cabinet presently mounts unnecessary presure on him.

Akinyemi, who was the director-general, Bisi Ilaka senatorial campaign council in the 2019 general elections disclosed this while fielding questions from Aanuoluwapo Omorinde on this week’s edition of BOTTOM LINE – a weekly political programme on IBR 92.5fm Ibadan monitored by OYOINSIGHT.COM.

Speaking on the need to urgently rejig his cabinet, the PDP stalwart noted that “there are some positions like that of the secretary to the state government and that of political adviser that the governor should have given to experienced politicians from his own political party. That will wade-off the kind of pressure on him presently.

“This idea of looking for technocrats is faulty. Are there no technocrats in the party?,” he retorted.

Akinyemi who faulted the composition of a reconciliation committee by the governor to persuade aggrieved PDP members in Oyo State and calm some nerves insists “there is no crisis in Oyo PDP, people are only complaining about the way they have been sidelined by the Governor”.

According to him, “there are many people who laboured for the victory of Governor Seyi Makinde but who are not been given fair treatment today.

“During the electioneering, we were attacked by hoodlums on several occassion. Where were these ones the governor appointed then,” he asked.

He described Makinde as a man who meant well but called on him to correct some of the mistakes made stressing that another round of election is here.
