The gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Engr Seyi Makinde has said that the ruling party APC is planning an inconclusive gubernatorial election in Oyo state in the same way it was done in Osun state.

In a release signed by campaign spokesman, Prince Dotun Oyelade, some  members of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, NURTW, who have started harassing market women have been mobilised to cause mayhem in PDP strongholds which include areas in Ogbomoso, Ibadan, Ibarapa and Okeogun.

According to the statement, selected card readers that will not function will be deployed to these areas to decimate the PDP votes as it was done in some southern states.

But Makinde assured the people that their votes will count in the end and he will still win the election convincingly.

He asked the people to remain vigilant and confident and to troop out to vote.

The security agencies and INEC, he said, should extend the frontiers of democracy by being unbiased umpires .

He also advised Muslim community to ignore campaign of calumny which some people are peddling around on the use of Hijab.

He said he is a free mixer who doesn’t discriminate against people of diverse  religion, tribal and political affinities as evidenced in over five years of propagating religion tolerance and peaceful coexistence with his annual Ramadan lectures and building of Mosque and sponsorship of people to Holy piligrimage to Mecca and others.
