As Muslims all over the world, especially in Oyo State, begins Ramadan today, the Chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission(NCC), Prof. Adeolu Akande, has sent a congratulatory message.
Akande, who was once chairman of the Nigeria Information Technology Development Agency, NITDA, tasked muslims to use the season to seek God’s face in a bid to tackle coronavirus which is ravaging the world.
According to the All Progressives Congress, APC, chieftain, “apart from charity which is an important part of fasting, Ramadan emphasizes self-sacrifice. All of us, irrespective of our position, should empathize with the less privileged.
“No doubt, the pandemic has foisted hardship on our people, we should all use this Holy month to seek the face of God for the quick resolution of the Covid 19 crisis.
Akande asked people to follow the guidelines on COVID-19 so as to tackle the virus successfully.
Urging for consistent prayers against other pandemic, Akande urges for compassion within and among the people of the state.
“While we also urge our brothers and sisters to imbibe the teachings of Ramadan, we should consistently be guided by the lessons inherent in the Holy month”, he added.
