Akande said hundreds of thousands of people have died since the beginning of the pandemic and that whoever has the grace to be alive should be grateful to God for His grace.

“We are not alive because we are wise or pious but by the special grace of God. This occasion therefore calls for thansgiving on the part of everyone who is alive.

Akande, who is a professor of comparative politics at the Igbinedion University, Okada, Edo State, noted that Nigeria is presently going through trying times, imploring the people of the state to use the occasion to pray for God’s intervention to restore peace and normalcy in the country.

He said the Easter is a symbolic occasion when Christians should pray to God that every good thing that is dead in the lives of Nigerians should rise.
