LAUTECH Alumni Congratulate Makinde, Ask Him To Rescue Institution, Others

The Oyo State chapter of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, LAUTECH, Ogbomoso, has congratulated Engr Seyi Makinde, the governor-elect of the State.

A statement by its chairman, Mr Akeem Kareem, urged Makinde not to forget the institution and others, adding that his election is a referendum on what has been happening to higher institutions in the state since the last 7 years.

     LETTER OF CONGRATULATIONS 

We hereby heartily congratulate Engineer Seyi Makinde , the Governor elect of Oyo state on his victory at the Gubernatorial elections that took place on Saturday, 9th March 2019 across the length and breadth of the state.

Your victory at the 9th March 2019 elections showed that truly and definitely power belongs to the people and that anyone who desires to lead must ALWAYS ensure they get the support of majority of the people.

We utilize this opportunity to remind you also that your victory at the elections was a referendum on the outgoing government and its policies particularly the way LAUTECH and other tertiary institutions were administered particularly in the last three years of the outgoing government.

On behalf of the generality of LAUTECH ALUMNI  and all critical stakeholders, we now humbly request you to ensure that the  actions aimed at  rescuing LAUTECH from the throes of death are  put in place immediately you have been sworn in on Thursday 29th May 2019.

As you know, LAUTECH is presently co owned by Oyo and Osun states, we also hereby appeal  to you to ensure that you harmoniously relate with the Osun state government, the university governing council, the university management, the alumni association, the university industrial unions and other critical stakeholders in the quest to reposition the university to its previous points of glory and academic excellence.

We pray to almighty God to grant you the much needed wisdom, tact, patience and dexterity to move Oyo state to greater heights in the next four years that God willing, you will be at the helm of affairs of the pacesetter state.

May your tenure as the next Executive Governor of Oyo state bring about massive positive progress in all aspects of life as they affect both indigenes and inhabitants of Oyo state.

The task ahead, no doubt tasking and arduous is however achievable.

 As an association, we will be ready to support, contribute and if necessary criticize your government as our contribution to the development of our alma mater and indeed the whole of Oyo state.
