Oyo Global Forum, a socio-political association committed to the development of Oyo town, has mourned the passing of Otun of Oyo, Chief Moses Oyedele Ogunmola.
The former ambassador died yesterday at 96 and would be buried today.

It is with a deep sense of loss but also gratitude to God Almighty that we announce the passing of Chief Moses Akano Ogunmola, the Otun of Oyo Land. Chief Ogunmola, aged 95, breathed his last this morning at a hospital in Ibadan. We are bidding farewell to a man whose life was a demonstration of leadership, wisdom, and remarkable accomplishments for himself and his community.
His departure leaves an irreplaceable void in the hearts of everyone who knew him and the Oyo community he served with unwavering dedication.
Baba Ogunmola’s legacy is etched in the very fabric of the history of modern Oyo. As a community leader, his impact resonated far and wide, touching the lives of countless individuals who looked up to him for guidance and inspiration. His role as a historian ensures that the rich cultural heritage of Oyo is preserved for future generations.

His diplomatic endeavors showcased his commitment to fostering positive relationships, both within the community and beyond – between our nation Nigeria and others. Chief Ogunmola’s multifaceted contributions earned him a well-deserved reputation as one of Oyo’s finest gifts to the nation—an exemplary figure whose influence reached far beyond the borders of his beloved land.
As we come to terms with the loss of this extraordinary individual, let us take a moment to reflect on the countless lives he touched directly and indirectly through his legacies and the indelible mark he left on Oyo Land. Tomorrow at 3 PM, please let us gather at the First Baptist Church, Isokun, Oyo, to bid Chief Moses Akano Ogunmola a final farewell. As we lay him to rest, let us celebrate his life, honor his legacy, and draw inspiration from the remarkable journey of a man who dedicated his life to the service of others. May his soul find eternal rest, and may his legacy continue to inspire generations to come.
