JUST IN: Three Years After, Appeal Court Validates Olugbemi’s Election

The court of appeal court sitting in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital yesterday struck out a suit  instituted by Mr. Jide Adewale challenging the candidacy of Hon. Sunbo Olugbemi in the 2015 pre-election matters for lack of merit. 

Olugbemi and Adewale had contested the primaries of the All Progressives Congress, APC, to fly the party’s flag for Oluyole federal constancy.

The presiding Judge who affirmed the rulling of the high court described the act of the appellant as gross abuse of court process.

The judgement has laid to rest the three years litigation of the appellant that he was the elected candidate of APC in the 2015 election. 

Reacting to the judgement, Olugbemi attributed his victory to almighty “God for his faithfulness and commend the legal team of Ojo & Gbadamosi Chambers for the professionalism displayed throughout the proceedings.”

The lawmaker dedicated his victory to all his supporters who throughout the process showed rare loyalty and were undaunted.  

He expressed special appreciation to Alhaji Akilapa Lawal for his forthrightness and his attribute of being an exemplary leader.

He, however, enjoined his teeming supporters to be focused as the re-election campaign is set to commence for the good works to continue. 

Olugbemi is now of the African Democratic Congress, ADC while Adewale is now of the Action Democratic Party, ADP.
