Four leading governorship aspirants on the platform of the Oyo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Joseph Tegbe, Adebayo Adelabu, Olusola Ayandele and Niyi Akintola, have obtained nomination forms to contest the primaries of the party.
This is coming after Governor Abiola Ajimobi decided to allow every interested aspirants to go ahead with the purchase of forms.
The quartet joined former governor Adebayo Alao-Akala, Barr Adebayo Shittu and Dr Owolabi Babalola who paid for their forms last week.
It was, however, unsure whether the 3 or the quartet are the three ‘anointed’ aspirants to contest the primaries.
OYO INSIGHT had exclusively reported how Ajimobi advised the close to 30 governorship aspirants to talk to themselves and come up with list of three topmost contenders.
However they were unable to come forward with names of three contenders. This is after 20 of the aspirants has agreed to the governor’s suggestion.
Impeccable sources told this newspaper that while Adelabu and Tegbe collected their forms yesterday, Akintola got his own today.
Though they sent representatives to collect the forms on their behalf, copies of the receipts they brought to the party secretariat showed that all of them paid last Thursday. Only Ayandele paid today.
