Sen. Monsurat Sunmonu, Honourables Sunday Adepoju, ‘Sunbo Olugbemi, Abiodun Olasupo and Taiwo Michael Akintola few minutes ago obtained the nomination forms of the newly formed African Democratic Congress, ADC, to pursue their re-election bid.
The five lawmakers are members of the breakaway faction of the Oyo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, who defected to the ADC due to leadership tussle between them (loyalists of late former governor Lamidi Adesina) and Governor Abiola Ajimobi.
While Sunmonu, the immediate past speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, currently represents Oyo Central senatorial district, Sunday Adepoju is representing Ibarapa East/ Ido federal constituency for the second term. Olugbemi is contesting for the second term to represent Oluyole federal constituency. Abiodun Olasupo and Akintola are seeking to represent Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Iwajowa/Kajola and Egbeda/Ona-Ara federal constituencies respectively for the second term.
