Ibadan is set to enjoy its normal peace again as Otun Olubadan of Ibadan, Rashidi Ladoja, has agreed to withdraw his case against elevation of high chiefs to Obaship status.
A source privy to the meeting made this revelation to OYOINSIGHT.COM.
Ladoja’s agreement, it was learnt, was greeted with applause.
At last week’s meeting, the elevated Obas have pleaded that Ladoja should withdraw the case as they have been relieved of their crowns more than twice and they wouldn’t want a repeat.
The former governor had told those at the peace meeting that he was not interested in any other crown than that of Ibadan, and that anyone who wishes to wear the elevated crown can do so since it won’t affect elevation to the exalted Olubadan throne.
This was just as the meeting initiated by Ibadan Elders has been laid to rest following the arrival of the Olubadan-designate, Owolabi Olakulehin.
It was also learnt that Olakunlehin has formally sent emissaries to Ladoja, being the highest in rank in the system after him, to signify interest as prescribed by the chief laws of Ibadan.
