Members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the three senatorial districts in Oyo State in Oyo State elected candidates to fly the party flag in next year’s National Assembly elections.
For Oyo Central, the candidature of Chief Oyebisi Ilaka was ratified by party delegates who throng the A-3 Hotels, Iwo Road/Ojoo expressway venue of the primaries. Ilaka, who hails from Oyo East local government,
Ilaka was the only aspirant who obtained nomination form.
In Oyo North, Ogbomoso-born former Reps majority leader, Hon. Mulikat Akande-Adeola defeated his main rival, Salawudeen, who hails from Iseyin local government.
Two term commissioner, Barr Bayo Lawal, who hails from Ibadan North East local government defeated former Oyo deputy governor, Barr. Hazeem Gbolarumi With 461 to 66 votes.
