Bisi Ilaka, a former Chief of Staff to Governor Seyi Makinde, has dumped the People’s Democratic Party in the state.
His decision was announced in a letter to the Party, a copy of which was made available to OYOINSIGHT.COM.
This newspaper authoritatively gathered that the Oyo-born politician and former Senator candidate is eyeing the gubernatorial ticket of the African Democratic Congress, a third force political alliance led by Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi.
Ilaka’s relationship with Governor Seyi Makinde has been frosty over the past few years. His exit is the latest in a growing wave of exodus from the PDP in the state.
“It is with utmost humility that I render the resignation of membership from the People’s Democratic Party.
“I am eternally grateful for the opportunities afforded to me by the party and the unalloyed support given to me over the year. Till we meet again,” his resignation letter read.
