A former Aide to Governor Seyi Makinde, Wale Ajani has dumped the Peoples Democratic Party in the state.

Ajani, who served as Director General, Oyo State Liaison, Lagos & Abuja, announced his decision in a letter to the Chairman of the PDP in Ward 6, Ona Ara Local Government.

OYOINSIGHT.COM gathered that Ajani is now weighing moving to the All Progressives Congress or Accord Party in the state.

The letter read as follows: “I write to formally notify you of my resignation from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) with effect from today, Saturday, 10th January 2026.

“This decision has not come lightly. However, due to the prevailing uncertainties within the party at both the national and state levels—particularly the emergence of factions, caretaker committees, and the persistent lack of internal democracy—I believe it is in my best interest, both personally and politically, to step aside at this time.

“I sincerely appreciate the opportunity to serve and contribute to the growth of the Oyo State government under the party at some point. I am grateful to all the leaders and members who have supported me over the years.

“As we approach the 2027 general elections, I intend to prepare myself for a higher level of political engagement. Details regarding my future political plans and association with a new political party will be communicated in due course.

“Thank you once again for the support and camaraderie. I wish the PDP continued progress.”

Yours faithfully,
