Governor Abiola Ajimobi will purchase three governorship nomination forms of the All Progressives Congress, APC pending the time he will anoint one of the 26 aspirants to succeed him.
Sources told OYO INSIGHT that the aspirants will be pruned down to three after which one of them would be announced on Wednesday, a day to the deadline for the submission of form.
The ‘anointed candidate’ will later pay for the forms.
This newspaper learnt that the race is among Engr. Joseph Tegbe, Oloye Adebayo Adelabu and another aspirant that is still being considered as at the time of filing this report.
The purchase of the forms by the governor is to enable that the state chapter doesn’t miss out as the exercise closes on Tuesday.
OYO INSIGHT learnt that was said to be the unanimous decision of the aspirants who had earlier met the governor yesterday.
Communications minister, Alhaji Adebayo Shittu, was however missing for the second time.
Ajimobi, OYO INSIGHT learnt, had told the aspirants to go home and assess themselves critically and honestly and come up with suggestions.
At today’s follow up meeting, the agreed were said to have asked the governor to choose three among them for the primaries. Ajimobi, however, said no, saying that he would not want to be rushed. This was after he had told them that he has no preferred person among them.
Ajimobi would later tell them that he would proceed to buy three nomination forms and distribute to the three people they will come up with.
Aspirants and party leaders in attendance later signed a peace pact to abide by whatever outcomes of the planned primaries.
