Oyo town was thrown in to confusion last night as dare-devil criminals invaded the Abolongo correctional facility, releasing inmates.
Sources said the attackers were heavily armed with dangerous objects which included grenades.
The officers on ground were said to have engaged them in gun duel. Many inmates escaped in the process with many people injured.
Other security agencies have since been mobilized to the area.
