Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the southwest, Taofeek Arapaja, has joined the party’s deputy national chairmanship race.
Relying on Nigerian Tribune’s exclusives, OYOINSIGHT.COM had yesterday reported plan by the former deputy governor to contest the seat, to pacify Seyi Makinde, governor of Oyo State, who wants Olagunsoye Oyinlola, former Osun governor, at all cost.
OYOINSIGHT.COM understands that the PDP in Oyinlola’s Osun does not want but Olawale Oladipo. Their grouse was that the former military governor of Lagos state left them for the All Progressives Congress, APC, when they needed him.
Arapaja Confirms OYOINSIGHT.COM’s story:
In order to bring normalcy back to our fold and after due consultation with party faithfuls, members, leaders and stakeholders, today, Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja participated in the screening of all Aspirants for the forthcoming National Convention at Legacy house Abuja.
While Ambassador Arapaja would be aspiring for the post of the Deputy National Chairman of our great party, this ambition is borne out of the great idea of repositioning the Party to greater heights it rightfully belongs like we have started in the Southwest PDP.
Our dearest Governor and Leader of PDP in the Southwest, Governor Seyi Makinde, has really raised the bar of politicking in our nation and we can’t do otherwise than to follow his footsteps of all inclusive, purposeful and visionary brand of politics with human face. His supports has been very tremendous and we hope to continuing making him proud.
It’s our greatest hope that we shall once again come out Victorious.
Signed
