The speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Olagunju Ojo, is shocked by yesterday’s defection of the Hon. Olamiju Alao-Akala, who is the chairman of Ogbomoso North local government.
Olamiju, OYO INSIGHT had reported, defected with his councilors from the All Progressives Congress, APC, to the Action Democratic Party, ADP, where his father and former governor Adebayo Alao-Akala, is seeking re-election 8 years after he left office.
According to Ojo, who is the APC house of representatives’ candidate for Ogbomoso North/Ogbomoso South/ Oriire federal constituency, the move is betrayal of trust.
Ojo, who spoke on a radio programme on Ajilete FM, Gambari, Ogbomoso, also spoke on the allegation made by Alao-Akala he and other politicians betrayed him by not defecting with him to ADP.
The Speaker pointed out that he never betrayed the former Governor for he did not invite him or brief him for once when he decided to leave APC for ADP.
This is just as he explained further that former Governor Alao-Akala even congratulated him when he was given the ticket to contest for the House of Representatives Election under the platform of the APC.
He, however, expressed optimism that President Muhammadu Buhari and all the candidates of the ruling party in Ogbomosoland will emerge victorious.
