Controversies have continued to trail the conduct of the primaries of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and emergence of some candidates, with some aspirants seeking redress through petitions written to either the appeal panels in states or directly addressed to the national secretariat of the party called for a total cancellation of the primaries conducted by the party to elect candidates.
The lawmaker representing the constituency, Olumide Ojerinde expressed the displeasure on the development which he claimed could retard the progress of the party.
While appealing for calm in an interview after the primaries, the Igboho-born politician urged his followers to follow party regulations.
He recalled that the primary in Irepo, Oorelope and Olorunsogo Federal Constituency of Oyo State was slated to hold at the Viewing centre beside Ogunbode secondary school, igbeti, Olorunsogo local government.
However on getting to the venue, they discovered that certain candidates had declared himself winner without all the local government delegates from each constituents.
He claimed that some of the candidates that declared themselves winners included Yekini Popoola, Olaide Muhammad and J. S Amodu.
He described each of process that produced them as kangaroo and unacceptable by law governing the all Progressive Congress.
Speaking on the development, the ward 7 youth leader in Olorunsogo local government, Soliu Garuba noted that what they witnessed has never happened before.
“How can a primary be conducted without the three constituency participating,” he asked.
