By December of this year, Senator Olufemi Lanlehin, Oyo State African Democratic Congress, ADC, governorship candidate, has promised the people of Iseyin, that their dream of having a tertiary institution will materialise.
Lanlehin, speaking at a campaign rally held at the Aseyin Palace Square, Iseyin, assured them that, “by God’s grace, and your support, my deputy and I, will ensure that by December, you have your tertiary institution.”
Berating the Oyo State government for not making good its much touted promise of establishing a tertiary institution in Iseyin, Hon Abiodun Olasupo, member representing Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Kajola/Iwajowa Federal Constituency, wondered why the APC “dribbled” the Iseyin people with a signboard advertising establishment of the institution, only for same to be eventually moved to Ibadan.
Castigating APC’s governorship candidate, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, “who used CBN intervention fund, meant for the development of the state, to fund First Technical University, an institution way out of reach of the common man,” Olasupo, fondly called Supo, urged voters to vote ADC, a party he described as God’s own project, designed to liberate Oyo State, and bring prosperity to its people.
Lanlehin, in continuation of his speech, added that the Ikere Gorge Dam, which is a veritable resource for Iseyin and environs will be effectively utilised for the development of its economy.
“That dam will be utilised to provide electricity, potable water, irrigable water, and will serve as a revenue earner,” Lanlehin said.
Earlier, Lanlehin had been to Ado Awaye, where he assured the people of the area, that their LCDA, Araromi, won’t be cancelled, instead, will be properly funded to meet the developmental needs of the people at the grassroots.
On Lanlehin’s entourage was his running mate, Alh Saheed Adejare Alaran, Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja, former Oyo State deputy governor, Senator Gbenga Babalola, Chief Lowo Obisesan and Hon Wale Adegoke, and Hon Afeez Adeleke, member representing Iseyin/Itesiwaju State Constituency, while the Oyo State ADC team was led by the state chairman, Alh (Dr) Ahmed Ayinla, and secretary, Alh Wasiu Emiola. Also present was the DG of his campaign organization, Arch Basiru Lawal.
Olasupo, Adeleke and Chief Bayo Lawal, candidates for Federal Constituency, State Constituency, and Senatorial District, were introduced formally to the teeming crowd.
