Former Deputy Governor of Oyo State and stalwart of the All Peoples’ Congress (APC) in Oyo state, His Excellency, Engr. Abdul-Rauf Olaniyan, has expressed shock and profound sadness on the death of Barrister Issac Omodewu, the party chairman in the state. Engr. Olaniyan who described Omodewu as his brother, said his death has created a vacuum which would be difficult to fill due to his dedication and commitment to the development of the party and the general welfare of its members across the state.

The late chairman had put so much in steering the affairs of the party, especially during the rigorous works of the 2023 general election, where he discharged his responsibilities with utmost dedication and humility. His sterling leadership and human management skills had been a frontal contribution to the successes recorded by the party at the election. Olaniyan said Omodewu did not relax even after the election, as he charged his executive in high level reconciliation drive and worked daily in pursuing the growth and unity of the party at every given opportunity.

Olaniyan has iterated that even though the chairman shared constant updates on situation of things, hoping God almighty would answer our prayers on the restoration of his health, Omodewu has left at a critical time when all hands are on deck to reposition the party in the entire state.

The late chairman would be sorely missed by all. We condole with the family, the entire party and we pray that his gentle soul rest in peace.
