Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba Afolabi Ghandi Olaoye has hinted that like he did for the Muslims in the palace by appointing a palace Imam, he would appoint a chaplain to represent the Christians too.
The monarch made this known at an event organized by Christian Association of Nigeria (Ogbomoso zone) to mark his 63rd birthday.
I am deeply honored and extend my heartfelt appreciation to the Christian Association of Nigeria (Ogbomoso) for graciously organizing a special prayer service in celebration of my 63rd birthday yesterday afternoon. Your thoughtful gesture has truly touched me, and I am grateful for this show of love.
During the gathering, I shared a valuable lesson from the book of Nehemiah, which highlights the importance of “the people having a mind to work.” This mindset was pivotal in helping them build what they envisioned, and it is equally vital for us as we prioritize the progress and development of our community. With this collective commitment, we can undoubtedly achieve our common goal and vision for transforming our town for the better.
I also spoke about the recent selection of an Imam for the palace and also to watch out for the installation of a chaplain that will soon be chosen to also represent the Christian community at the palace. Additionally, we will establish a Day of the month for fellowship. While it may be impossible for me to visit every church in Ogbomoso, organizing monthly interdenominational services will allow me to connect with each congregation and foster unity among us all.
Thank you once again for this meaningful celebration of my birthday. May God bless us all and the land of Ogbomoso as a whole.
