IBADAN NORTH WEST/SOUTH WEST: Ajanaku Opts Out Of APC Primaries, Alleges Multiple Delegates’ Lists

    House of Representatives aspirant for Ibadan Northwest/Southwest under the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Rotimi Ajanaku on Friday opted out of the party’s primary after unanimous decision among the aspirants to suspend the primary as a result of alleged irregularities in the process.

    Ajanaku described the delegates’ list for the primaries of the party as fraudulent.

    In a press statement he personally signed, he stated that he was angered by the fraudulent practices and lack of internal democracy in the party.

    Ibadan based businessman cum politician who was supposed to participate in yesterday’s primary with other aspirants to represent APC in the 2023 election into the House of Representatives said democracy has been murdered in Nigeria, adding that it calls for quick intervention.

    “I’m highly disappointed with the whole process, imagine a party claiming to be progressive having four different delegates’ lists for the same primary in 21st century. It’s unfortunate and disheartening.

    “On this note, I, Rotimi Ajanaku is using this medium to inform all my teeming supporters that I am no more interested in the House of Representatives race as a candidate of All Progressives Congress.

    “I appeal to my supporters to remain calm as the next line of action shall be communicated to you in due course,” Ajanaku said.
