According to him, “The recent incidences of rape and sexual assaults have left me, just like every other concerned Nigerian outraged and sad.

These series of terrible, heartbreaking incidences have led to deaths of innocent young women and girls; acts of violence perpetrated by vile and despicable individuals which has left a lot of people in emotional and psychological trauma.”

He wrote further that, based on this, as a Member of Federal House of Representatives, he will strongly advocate for amendment of existing rape and sexual offences law for stricter punishment at the National Assembly.

He revealed that his Foundation will henceforth collaborate with NGO’s and other relevant organizations in Advocacy and Campaign against rape and sexual assaults.

“As a people, these acts of rape and sexual assault is beginning to threaten our peace and sanity, and we all have a responsibility to ensure this rising menace is nipped in the bud as soon as possible.

“We should all play active roles in ensuring rape and sexual assault cases are duly reported to relevant law upholding authorities, as well as be vigilant to prevent further cases from happening, as these predators are very much around us,” he stated.

He also charged law enforcement agents all over the country to always ensure sexual offenders are duly and swiftly prosecuted.

He added,” I Prince Akinremi Olaide Adewale (Jagaban) hereby condemn in strong terms; rape, sexual assaults, sexual violence and its associated ills in any form, and by any gender.

“May God Almighty console the families of those whose lives were lost to these ills, and grant to survivors strength to overcome such difficult experience, Amen.”
