Speaking with newsmen during the donation of the food items which took place at Mapo Primary School in Odinjo area of Ibadan, the foundation’s program manager, Mr. Oriolowo Adeolu stated that the food items were donated to ease the affairs of people in the country.

He noted that the current economic situation in the country means a lot of people need all the help they can get to survive.

“We are supporting people with food items because we just want to help them with the situation in the country now some people find it difficult to eat three square meal so we just believe with the little support, we can take them for like a week or more,” he said.

Speaking further, the Program Manager maintained that the program is one of the regular ways the foundation contributes to the development of the society.

“We are here to empower 150 families with food items. We are planning our next program which is going to be renovation of one block of classroom in this community. So what we are doing today, we are giving out food items. We are giving our rice, vegetable oil, maggi, e.t.c. What we have for each family today will cost N3,200.

“At ASL Foundation, we do food programme to support the familyes. The last one we did was at Alakaso village in Omi area. The next one we did for widows, they came to the office at Challenge to pick up their food items.

“After that we supported students of a primary school with writing materials and bags but we are here today just to support them with food items,” Mr. Adeolu added.

One of the beneficiaries, Mr. Olanrewaju Bolaji lauded the organizers noting that some of them who had nothing to eat when they woke up on Saturday now feel ‘interesting’.

“I feel alright because some people don’t have anything this morning but this program is very interesting to all of us. We are appreciate it,” he said.

He also urged government at all levels to embrace projects like this to reduce the crime rate in the society.

Established in 2016, the ASL Foundaton is known for “exploring easily replicable and low cost ideas that will have the maximum impact” on target beneficiaries.
