Another woman, Mary Daramola has been raped and killed in Alabata community at Akinyele local government area of Oyo State.
The incident which occurred on Monday August 24 was barely 24 hours after the prime suspect of the serial killings in the area Sunday Shodipe was re-arrested.
According to Newspeakonline, the Balogun of Alabata, Chief Rasaq Ajimoti explained that it was a passer-by, who noticed the gang when they were trying to dump the corpse of Mary in a nearby bush that raised an alarm.
This alarm resulted in the arrest of one Toheeb Ako, who was then taken to Moniya police station.
The guardian of the victim, Mrs. Dolakemi Adedeji expressed sadness over the horrible incident and called for justice to serve as a deterrent to rapists in the society.
The Baale of Alabata, Chief Olakanmi Olaniyan, also appealed to the youths in the community to be calm.
He added that the police and other security agencies are already investigating the incident, and assured residents of adequate security of their lives and property.
It was gathered that the suspect has been transferred to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Iyaganku, Ibadan.
As at the time of filing this report, efforts to reach with the Police Public Relations Officer in state, SP. Gbenga Fadeyi on the incident were unsuccessful.
