The proprietary of Otunba Sunday Adeyemo (Sunday Igboho)’s interventions in the Herders/ Farmers conflict of recent is not the object of this discourse because while landslide majority of our
citizens applauded his roles, some very few of us condemned it as being adoption of mob justice, but we also cautioned the Federal Government against arresting Sunday Igboho because members of the other ethnic groups who adopted same actions in the past were never arrested. It would therefore ammount to double standard and against the principles of the Rule of Law if Sunday Igboho is singled out for arrest and prosecution.
Sunday Igboho has played his part very well either rightly or wrongly, we should all take it to the next level. And if you ask me what the next level is, I will explain as follows:
Both sides of the divide and all of us accross the tribal, ethnic, political and religious sentiments unanimously agreed that it is the failing of governments at all levels in this country that has led to the loss of confidence and trust among our peoples against themselves and between the government and the governed. And since that has been revealed and identified, all interest groups, pressure groups, labour unions, trade unions, professional associations and bodies including religious associations as well as ethnic, tribal, traditional , cultural and students’ unions and associations should mobilise their members enmasse to OCCUPY all the government houses , governors’ offices and the presidential villa with the sole objective of forcing our Governors and the President of this country to tackle headlong the degenerating security crisis all over the country through the devotion of greater percentage of their security votes for securing of the lives and properties of Nigerians and other residents in our country irrespective of where we may choose to reside in so far that we are law abiding.
If we are all sincere and are determined to have peace, order , justice and progress in Nigeria, this is a task we all owe ourselves and the posterity to do and achieve.
The time is now.
Let us OCCUPY the Presidential Villa, the Government Houses and the Governors Offices throughout the country until our rulers agree to commit sincerely greater percentage of their security votes to secure lives and properties of citizens and residents in Nigeria and permanently restore peace in Nigeria.
